Bradford Park Avenue will travel to Farsley Celtic for a pre-season friendly on 22 July.

The match is the fifth warm up game to be announced as Mark Bower’s squad look to prepare for the 2017-18 Vanarama National League North campaign.

The two sides met last season, as the Celts defeated a depleted Bradford side in the semi-final of the West Riding County Cup.

Since then, Farsley have gained promotion but also seen a change in management as ex-Avenue boss John Deacey left the club, along with fellow joint-manager Neil Parsley, after victory over Ossett Town in the NPL First Division play-off final.

There are still familiar faces at Throstle Nest as former Bradford striker Mark Bett joined as assistant to new manager Adam Lakeland.

Ex-Avenue men Adam Clayton, James Walshaw and Paul Walker are the only players so far to commit to Lakeland’s squad for next term, but more known names will be on show in the clash after last season’s side contained many who had worn green and white in the past.

The match is added to already announced trips to Albion Sports, Campion and Ossett Town, as well as the home friendly against Altrincham.

It will mean a second trip to Throstle Nest in pre-season, as that is still the temporary home to Albion.
