Bradford Park Avenue have carried out some work on the playing surface at Horsfall Stadium ahead of the 2017-18 campaign.
The club’s contracted grounds team, Chappellow Sport Turf, started their work by carrying out a linear aerating process called earthquaking on the turf.
The pitch was then covered with 60 tonnes of sand before it was top seeded, with a six week watering period now commencing.
All work was carried out this Monday, with the aim to further aid drainage on the pitch, and also level it out.
Incredibly, Avenue went through the 2016-17 campaign without a single home game being called off.
After a number of heavily weather affected seasons in which Bradford had been left playing catch-up due to a large amount of postponements.
It is hoped that with this work that we can continue into the 2017-18 campaign without the worry of home games being postponed.
Special thanks go out to volunteers Pete Holden and Neil Fawcett, who have kindly offered to maintain the pitch over the summer.
