The Bradford Park Avenue Academy will play their first game on the brand new 3G pitch at Grange Technology College this Wednesday.

Avenue’s English Colleges games, played on a Wednesday afternoon, were due to be played at Grange earlier in the season, but delays in the installation of the top-of-the-range surface meant alternative venues had to be sought.

Therefore Alex Meechan’s side have played matches at Horsfall and at Marley in Keighley, but will now play their first game at their more permanent home on Wednesday afternoon, when they host Lawnswood 6th Form College.

Kick-off is at 1.30pm (February 8th), and spectators are more than welcome to attend and watch the Avenue youngsters in action.

The new floodlit 3G will now be the permanent base of not only the Academy, but for Avenue’s first team training sessions as well, having alternated between venues throughout the season.

In terms of Academy action, one of the postponed Northern U19 Alliance League matches has been rearranged.

The home match against Thackley will now be played on Monday February 27, at the Horsfall Stadium.

Games in that competition this season had been played at Fields so far in order to protect the Horsfall surface, but with the pitch looking in decent nick the decision has been taken for this match to be played at Avenue’s regular home.

Kick-off for that match is 7.45pm and admission is the usual £2, so come down to the Horsfall and support the lads at the end of the month.
